Mohamed Ibrahim is a prominent figure in the field of Information Technology and telecommunications, with a career that has spanned more than twenty years. He is the Founding Chairman of ISOC Somalia and serves as the Project Manager for the .so registry. His expertise is recognized at the University of Melbourne where he is a Research Fellow, and he also provides valuable insights as an advisor to Somalia's Minister of Posts and Telecommunications. In addition, he holds the position of Chairman at the Centre for Research and Dialogue and represents Somalia at the Internet Governance Forum (IGF).

His rich history in the IT industry includes significant roles at PNG Elcom, Kuwait Oil Company during the 80s and 90s, and in the public sector with the Victorian Government's Health Superannuation Board in the 80s. He was the CIO at Peninsula Health from 1998 to 2003, and later took on the role of IT Strategy Manager at Deakin University. His academic contributions are notable as well, having been an honorary senior lecturer at Monash University and a lecturer in Educational Technology at the Higher Colleges of Technology in the UAE.
